Aylene qualified in 1997 from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She later completed a post graduate course in Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy. Over the years, she has completed numerous physiotherapy courses to further her education and clinical skills. She has worked in private practice in South Africa, the UK and Australia. Aylene has a special interest in treating neck and back pain, and enjoys treating sports injuries.
Nicky McLellanPhysiotherapist and Practice Owner
Nicky qualified in South Africa in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She later completed a course in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy. She has worked in private practice in South Africa, England and Australia, and has undertaken many courses to further her knowledge and improve her clinical skills. She has a special interest in treating necks and backs, and having completed over 30 marathons, she is very passionate about running injuries!
Maartje qualified in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Avans University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands. She holds a post-graduate degree in Manual Therapy and Manipulative Techniques and is qualified in Dry Needling and treatment of the TMJ (temporomandibular joint). Maartje has worked in private practices in The Netherlands, China, Singapore and Australia. She very much enjoys working with people from all different parts of the world. She has a special interest in treating neck and back pain, as well as shoulder and hip problems and she enjoys working with kids of different age to treat their orthopaedic and sports-related issues. Maartje’s approach with patients is very hands on and she finds it important to include an exercise programme into the treatment plan so that her patients get actively involved in their own rehabilitation. Maartje is multilingual and speaks English, Dutch and German.
Paul completed an undergraduate in Medical Science (UNSW), specialising in Physiology. He went on to complete an honors project investigating a novel treatment for stroke rehabilitation. Paul later developed an interest in understanding dysfunctional movement patterns and musculoskeletal injuries which drew him to complete a Doctor of Physiotherapy course at Macquarie University. Paul is interested in understanding factors facilitating and preventing ideal movement, treating and rehabilitating sports injuries, specifically shoulder conditions, and providing evidence-based, tailored exercise programs. Outside of work, Paul enjoys immersing himself in the great outdoors through hiking, mountain biking and snowboarding but also enjoys his downtime through making coffee and reading a good book.
Katy completed an undergraduate communications degree in Melbourne in 2008 and then started her own health and fitness business. She was a personal trainer for 10 years specialising in strength and mobility. During this time, she moved to London and worked in a health clinic alongside some physiotherapists, which inspired her to study again. She returned to Australia and completed a Doctor of Physiotherapy at Macquarie university. By drawing on her communications and fitness background, Katy has a holistic approach to treating patients. She combines manual therapy with exercise and lifestyle changes to work with patients to become free of pain and achieve their goals. Outside of work she loves yoga, coastal runs, kettlebell training and is passionate about cooking, wine and travel.
Monique BrigattiPractice Manager
Monique grew up in a small town in WA called Leeman where her passion for sports began. This included 13 years of netball coaching, some tennis, badminton, cricket and football. Her greatest sports achievement was in Fencing (Foil). She was placed 14th in the state after 4 years until injury retired her to non-contact sports. Monique is a keen gardener, loves her animals, reading and cares for people. She holds a current First Aid Certificate. Monique has been in the Hospitality industry for 24 years including office management and reception.
Cecilia came to Australia from Europe and now calls Sydney home. After working for 15 years in the software business she changed professions and worked 3 years as a medical receptionist in a large hospital in Paris. She has lived in five countries and is fluent in six languages (English, French, Greek, Japanese, Hungarian and Romanian). She is interested in different cultures and loves books, art, animals and nature.
Maxine has lived in Eastgardens for the last 27 years, where she and her husband raised and educated their three children in the local area. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience communicating with clients in the IT industry, having worked as a programmer for 14 years and then as a sales consultant for 10 years. She has recently joined our Maroubra road physiotherapy practice to balance her lifestyle and social interaction with members of the community. She enjoys oil painting and singing, and keeps fit by swimming and power walking.
Charmaine graduated high school in 2018, currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Western Sydney University. As the newest members of the team, she loves a challenge and ensures that a positive atmosphere is built for others around her. She stays active through different styles of dance, especially hip hop and jazz. With this passion, she hopes to run a dance studio alongside being a physiotherapist. Charmaine’s other hobbies include singing in the car, playing piano, baking and ice skating. She enjoys a good movie night.
